WINE AND MUSIC TALK TO US THROUGH OUR DIFFERENT SENSES, HOWEVER, SOMEWHERE DEEP DOWN IN EVERY HUMAN SOUL THEY PLAY ON THE SAME STRINGS. IN THE POLJŠAK FAMILY, MUSIC AND WINE COMPLEMENT EACH OTHER AND ARE PASSIONATELY ENTWINED.

THE BEST VIEW
Our vineyard stretches across the hill above our estate
My ancestors‘ estate watches over the vineyard, bordered by two mighty chestnut trees, providing an incredible view of the Vipava valley. Old cellar vaults are inside, and we are very proud of the fact that already the French – during the Napoleonic era – enjoyed our wines. At that time, a French civil servant had his desk in the old house.

BELOW THE GROUND
Ideal cellar temperatures
Whilst excavating for the new cellar for today’s winery, we discovered a small cave with a well, which we enclosed with a wall and where we installed lighting. The well in its cave has not only become an attraction point for our visitors, it is also very useful because it provides the right humidity for the cellar, keeping it cool and at an ideal temperature.

OUR WINES
Poljšak wines: more and more distinguished from year to year
On our estate, which extends over five hectares in Gradišče near Vipava, vines have been thriving for more than two centuries. The vineyard’s sunny location and excellent climate lend themselves to optimal conditions for the grapes to mature.

WINE AND MUSIC
The right music accompaniment for each wine
Stane, my father, was a musician at heart: an enthusiastic, autodidact violinist and singer. Most of all, however, he was a very social person with a great sense of humour, who was in his element amongst people. So many evenings were spent in the Poljšak household with friends and neighbours enjoying music and a good glass of wine! He also sparked a love for music within us, his children, which is still with us each and every day.
